We are here, In another addtition of Talk Vietnam is you just heard Kyo York, he is a American, and he just sing a song " Rieng mot goc troi " with a little translate to " Under the sky that's just for me " and it is the song by Ngo Thuy Mien, you learn more about this addition of Talk Vietnam why Kyo has be albe to sing so wonderfully Vietnamese songs, and you know here him share More about his passion and love for Vietnamese songs and about that Vietnamese people and country.

Can you show us what's brought you to Vietnam in actually
KY : In actually, I came to Vietnam with a program of Princeton university. I have come to Vietnam in 2007 , one time for just about a week, with a program " semaster at sea "with a program throw university Virghinia .. And I really can find another feel of country then I want to have oppotunity with Princ university to come back to Vietnam, even more excited to kind reversed for much longer previous of time.
TD : Fact in college, you are trained IT information and technology engineer from Pennsylvania. And now, you are in the ... Is so verious, How did you make that about kind of shift ??
KY : I was working for Apple computer for about 3 years, The commiunication I think was really got me intrested in Vietnam and something I involed in been really intrested in are like ... And people, how they in a act...
I found alot of really intrested thing in my ... researches, living in Vietnam and be able to look at the way Vietnamese people treat to eachother and how compare American treat to eachother, I found up that is suprised of diffirentces, It's really can being credible so.. I really don't know It's just kind of happen, you know. I came to Vietnam to teach Enghlish and now I'm very very lucky to say that I able to sing and to speak a language that to me is very beautiful, you know I able to share with Vietnamese people on .... With Vietnamese that I have been able to learn I'm feel very gratedful for that.
TD : But talk about the processive of learning a song, how long did you usually take you to master of a Vietnamese song
KY : It's depend on every the song of course. When I'm at first learning Vietnamese music, It would take me any where for about a week and a half to about two weeks, may be confidently sing a song. Now I can learn the song within two or three days, but to confidently sing daily alot more time today , I sit with the music, I listen to other singer, talk to my author artist friends, get oponion and then suit feel what would be the best with my voice with my ability to perform, what's going to be the best when I bring that song infront of state.

I'm naturally came to Vietnam with a program of Princeton University. I have come to Vietnam in 2007. one time for just about a week with the program "semester at sea" which is the program through the university of Virginia. And I really kind of feed with the country diamond. When I have be able to univer Princeton to come back to Vietnam, I was even more exciting to kind of revisit for very much longer period of time.

Well, I was working for Apple's computer about 3 years. The communication I think it work really got me interested in Vietnam and something that I (vo ) it has been interested in..like.. culture and people and how they interact and why they interact and the way has interact. So, I found a lot of interesting things in my postgraduate research. Living in Vietnam and be able to look at the way Vietnamese people treat each other and how compare that with how American treat each other. I found of several different as in it's really incredible..so..

You’r here, on another edition on Talk Vietnam and you just heard Kyo York, he’s an American and he just sang a song “ Riêng một góc trời” which a little is translated to “ Under a sky that just for me” and this is a song by Ngo Thuy Mien and you learn more in this edition on Talk Vietnam why Kyo has been able to sing so wonderfully this Vietnamese song. Kyo: In actually I came to Vietnam with a program with Princeton University. I had come to Vietnam in 2007, one time for just about a week with the program “Semester at sea” which is the program through the University of Virginia.
And I really kind of fell in love with this country then when I have the opportunity with Princeton Agent to come back to Vietnam, I was even more excited to kind of represent for a much longer period of time.

TD: Back in college, you are trained IT information and technology engineer from Pennsylvania. And now, you are in the kind of the music. So various. So how did you make that about kind of shift ?

Kyo: Well, I was working for Apple Computer for about 3 years. The communication I think that really got me interested in Vietnam, something that I’ve always been really interested in it, like culture and people, and how they interact and why they interact in the ways they interact.
So I found a lot of interesting things in my sort of post-graduate research living in Vietnam and being able to look in the way Vietnamese people treat each other (and how) and compare with how American treat each other. I found out several varieties of differences and it’s really kind of incredible.
Yes, I mean I really don’t know. It’s just kind of happened, you know.I came to Vietnam to teach English and now I’m very very lucky to say that I’m able to sing and to speak a language that to me it’s very beautiful. And you khow I’m able to share with Vietnamese people on a pretty deeper level with the Vietnamese that I’ve been able to learn and I feel very grateful for that.

- I'm not really sure, I wanna say over 35 around 40 now, so I would say about
- I'd like to think that in my heart and my soul is very Vietnamese.
- One of the thing that I normaly say for alot interview, alot of people, lot of my fans .. Shared.. Alot of people say that In the past life, I was Vietnamese,
- I usual joke around but I really still believe that now because It's seem like within two years that I be able to do thing that I didn't think I keep able doing
- And I never thought that, Vietnamese was healped me to learn about my self in the way that was so reviewling, and in the way that has me be loved a country even more.
- you know, the more I'm here and the more longer I'm here, and the more I get the...you know, meet people in other places in Vietnam, and see other part in Vietnam throw music, the more I love this country and the more I get to understand more and more about the culture of Vietnam.
- i think it's very unique and very special.
- there have been alot moment of pressure and i have been alot moment of stress, and then I get a letter, from some body who said something to me like : when I hear you sing, I love my country music even more, or I get letter said : when I herad you sing this song or that song, I cried
- You know I never thought I ever listened to the foreinger and respect them in the way that was purely Vietnamese.
- In a something that I really proud of in a very model sway.

Yeah I mean. I really don’t know it is kind of..kind of happen.. you know.. I..ah.. came to Vietnam to teaching lesson and now I’m very very lucky to say that..ah..I’m able to share with Vietnamese people on..on a pretty deep level with the Vietnamese that I’m able to learn and I feel really grateful for that.

It’s.. It’s.. depend on every song, of course. When I was first learning Vietnamese music, it’ll take me anyway for about a week and a half or about 2 week. Maybe confidence in sing a song. Ah..now I can learn a song with in 2 or 3 days..Ah.. But to confide it sing daily a lot more time this so..ah.. I seek with the music, listen to other singers, talk to my artistic friend’s, get opinion then and sudar fial what it’s gonna be the best with my voice with my ability of perform with going to be the best when I.. when I bring that song to live front state.

Ah.. really sure I wanna say at over 35 around 40 now.. So I’ll say that. And you know, I’m able to share with Vietnamese people on a pretty deep level with the Vietnamese that I’m able to learn and I feel really grateful for that.
