Nguyen Hien

1. Well, presently I am a third year student at Academy of Finance, which is a state school, and one of the top universities in Vietnam.
2. Exactly, I am studying accounting.
3. Well, I choose it simply because I am really interested in accounting. As an accountant I can provide real figures and business situation of a particular company for managers , and also I can understand deeply about economics and make a right decision on investment .  So that it is practical and useful in getting a job because all of firms need more than one accountant.
4. Basically, it is ok. Well, my university has rich history with a lot of achievements.  Plus, almost of teachers are subject specialists and they are absolutely enthusiastic to develop talents and interests. Besides, the tuition fees is not very high because it is a state school. But, frankly speaking, its campus and dormitory are not large enough for all students. Fortunately,  as the director of academy claims, it will be expanded in next couple years.
5. Well, generally all of my subjects are quiet interesting, but sometimes some subjects require me to memorize a lot in order to keep up with my studies, such as philosophy , so it make me bored and tired, actually.
6. Well, I suppose my major subject as accounting subject is most useful to me. This is possible because I guess if I don’t have accounting knowledge, I won’t be an  excellent  accountant in the future. So I always learn it by heart.
7. Do you often get together with your classmate after classes?
Well, quite often I together with my classmates. We always have up and down together and  usually they  crack me up and help me relieve stress after school.
8. What was your favorite subject in high school?
Well, what I really enjoy is physics simply because when studying physics, I find relax and fun. It help me  relax my muscles, and give me more time to interact with my friends.
9. Which school subject do you think is most useful for people in adult life?
Personally, I think physical is most useful when you graduate from school. This is because it brings  essential applications for you in your life,  like electrical knowledge,  mechanical knowledge, and  so on. So, it help you protect yourself from damage and repaire something in your house.

LINH

1. Well, I have passed the Entrance Exam in this July, you know. And now, I’m a freshman at University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

2. Presently, I’m majoring in Faculty of Viet Nam. Plus, I’m attending English class twice a week at school.

3. Actually, I would like broaden my knowledge about Viet Nam like culture, custom, history, geography,… and just add a few. Also, often many people wonder why the Vietnamese learn about Viet Nam. But if you want to study about different country in the world, you should study about your country intensively foremost, I think.

4. I guess it’s OK. The campus is quite small but nice and clean. What I like most in my university is having many old trees. So after classes, usually I like sitting on the stone seat in the shadow of the trees, you know, to learn or just to look at the blue sky.

5. Frankly to say, I can’t get used to study methods at university until now. You have to learn everything yourself and no one teach you step by step like in the high school. So you won’t keep up with your lessons unless you prepare them before classes.

6. Personally, what subject I like most is Vietnamese cultural base. For some reason it comes easy to me. It could be because I was born in a traditional family. Also, I can give a talk on whatever problem I concern about. So it’s good for improving ability of talking to crowd, actually.

7. I guess English will be the most important and useful to each person, especially to students. This is because after leaving university, if you use language skills well, you will have more opportunity to find out good jobs.

8. Well, to be honest, I’m a timid person. So, I have gone to university for 2 months, however, I don’t have many friends. After classes, usually I go to the book stores - which is nearby my university- to buy a book or just go window shopping.

9. I suppose my favorite subject in high school is literature. This is why I like my literature teacher, especially her inspirable voice. So I’m very excited to learn it, really.

10. Well, any subject having to do with communication would be most useful when you graduate from school. If the person has so-called "soft skills", he will have a good term with people, especially with his partners or seniors

Education and Learning

1. Presently I am a student. I have been studying at Thang Long University for 4 years. I missed one subject, so I will graduate next year.

2. My major is Public Health. It is not a popular field of study in Vietnam.

3. I suppose that I don’t like desk job which makes me feel bored. I would like to become a social worker. I could travel many countries and meet a lot of people. And if I lucky enough to work for non-governmental organization, I will have opportunities to help people.

4. When I come in university, everything is awesome! New friends, new learning atmosphere, … and I thought I was free. The first and second year in uni were beautiful, but then, I had more homework and started to think about my future, how to get a job. I feel a bit sad because I realize that I'm mature.

5. Well. Some of my studies I just have to take for credits and that gets a little tedious sometime.

6. The subject I like the most is Health education and communication. This course helped me to develop
soft skills like: presentation skills, team work skills. I just add a few.

7. Frankly speaking, my specialty is too wide and I had to learn many subjects, probably, 70% of what I’ve learned I will never use though. But, I want to work in the nutrition field after college, I guess Nutrition and food safety will be the most useful to me.

8. Unfortunately, no. My class just has around 10 members, and I don’t very close with them.

9. I like biology. This could be because it is very interesting to learn about the world of plants and animals.

10. I think Literature is the most useful subject when you graduate from school. It helps people expand knowledge and feel life easier. Especially, in adult life.
