Hà An
public event
- When I was in grade 9, I was chosen to join in this event
- I was given  uniform with slogan “ ride bike for environment”
- Meaningful  event to prevent air pollution by encouraging people to use bike
- Started at 8 a.m at Uncle Ho’s mausoleum
- Biked around city around 6 hour
- Had a lot of fun, happy

EVENT

WHAT: Huong Pagoda Festival
- one of the greatest Buddhist festival
- located in My Duc district, which is nearby my hometown aound 40’ by motorbike

WHEN + FEELING
- held annually and lasts for 3 months from the 1st to the 3rd un Lunar Calendar
- the ceremonies consist of offerings like incenses, flowers, candles, and fruits
=> I remember vividly I saw 2 monks performing beautiful and flexible dances. As a child, I was a little bit scared, really
- Entertaining activities like boat cruise along Yen stream for watching picturesque scenery, climbing mountain or exploring holy caves
- People believe that climbing up the top of Huong Tich mountain will bring you great success in life

PURPOSE
- go there to worship Buddhism
- visit beautiful landscape
- pray for themselves and their family.
=> maintains traditional values and spiritual life of the Vietnamese

EXPERIENCE

- great journey with my parent to Cat Ba Island after passing the Entrance Exam
- Arrive here after 5 hours by car


- seeing the long beach and hearing the ocean waves => not tired
- First day, went to the beach for a swim. Water was clean
- My father taught me how to swim but until now, I can’t swim better
- After having a delicious seafood dinner, we did a bit of shopping around
-   walk along the beach to feel the sea breeze

- the next morning, woke up to the splashing of fish and sailed around the Bay
- visit Monkey Island – the greatest island in Cat Ba
- feel not lucky because didn’t find any monkeys
- hiking to top of mountain => have a good view of Lan Ha Bay.
- The atmosphere if airy and spacious


- still have vivid memories of that day I went to National Park, which is the domain of the endangered Cat Ba Langur monkeys
- I feed bananas to them.
- Bought a T-shirt with a line” Please, help us!” under a Langur imagine

=> feel a great sense of enjoyment

AN EVENT

- Boat racing festival
- a competition and a ritual in honor of Water God
2. When, where
- ten years ago
- was held on the river in my country
3. During the event
- Two boats: a male boat symbolize the sky
A female one symbolize the water
- about 10 participants on each boat
- a large number of viewers enjoyed and cheered up
4. The feel
- so much fun
- helped me learn things about traditional culture of my country
- had a good chance to enjoy a fair competition between plain, friendly farmers
- really worth seeing.

- visited the floating villages
- went swimming, sunbathing and kayaking

- a beautiful place

- seafood was delicious, especially seafood
- a good chance for shopping
- really worth seeing.

1. What?
Quan ho Bac Ninh festival
2. When
A couple of years ago.
It is organized for 3 or 5 days in January . this time, the weather was a little bit cold and some time it rains. It mean….
It preserves the cultural identity of Vietnam
It was recognized as the intangible cultural heritage by Unesco .
3. How?
It is Vietnamese folk music.
The song is performed by alternating group of female and male who sing in harmony.
Two men will respond with similar melody, but different lyrics.
Women wear large round hats and scarves. The men wear turbans and umbrellas.
Lyrics express people’s emotional states like sadness and happiness about love.

What:
- Japan – Vietnam Cultural Exchange Festival
- Hanami Festival

When:
- usually it is held once a year.
- when I was in high school. 2007. That first festival was held in Vietnam,

Where:
- Giang Vo Cultural centre

What happened:
- festival had a lot of interesting activities.
- firstly, Japanese sent three real cherry tree and hundreds of cherry silk flowers.
- secondly, Festival attendees could enjoyed the art of dance, tea ceremony, origami and Japanese cuisine.
- finally, My favorite thing was the Cosplay festival. I was took pictures with my favorite comic character that I liked.
- Another thing, I was received some rewards from the game in the event. I still hold until now.

Feelings:
- it was so much fun.
- i don't think i'll ever forget. cuz everything was so new to me at that time.
- i hope i would go to Japan to enjoy Hanami festival.
