The graph shows the consumption of fish, lamb, beef and chicken in a particular European country during a 25-year period from 1979 to 2004.

As can be seen clearly, the most triking feature of the graph is that the consumption of chicken exceeded by far the quantity of other foods. The trend for the former was decidedly upwards, with the consumption of chicken experiencing a steady rise from around 150 grams in 1979 to 250 grams in 2004.

This is in sharp contrast to the consumption of beef, lamp and fish during the given period of time when the food consumption that went down to even less than 40 grams per person per week in 2004. The beef consumption went up and down wildly especially in the first half of this period before falling back again to around 100 grams which the consumption halved in 25 years. The consumption of lamp and fish, similarly, saw an obviously decrease between 1979 and 2004, respectively with above 60 grams and 40 grams at the end of the period. Within 25 consecutive years from 1979 to 2004, lamb which was consumed fell back dramatically with a 60% fall, whereas the decrease of fish consumption was insignificant, from around 60 grams in 1979 to 40 grams in 2004.

The illustration presents the consumption of four different kinds of meats in a particular European country from 1979 to 2004.

Overall, as can be seen clearly from the graph, there were a quick increase of amount of chicken which was spent in given period of time while consumption trends of three other kinds of meats, which consist of beef, lamb and fish, were changed downward significantly.

Regarding from the graph, in 1979 the most popular of these foods was beef, which was spent greatest in amount of four kinds about over 200 grams per person perweek, whereas amount of lamb, chicken and fish only spent was approximately 150, 140 and about/just over 50 respectively. There was a dramatical growth of chicken spending from 140 grams in 1979 to approximately 150 grams in 2004. That made chicken was the most common food in 2004 while both of comsumption of beef and lamp were decrease sharply to 110 and 50 respectively. In addition to, spending of fish also declinced but it only decreased slightly from over 50 grams in 1979 to just below 50 grams in 2004, therefore it held/kept the least popular food in the given period of time.

In conclusion, the graph decribes why the the spending of chicken rose suddenly because of the quick decreases of the other foods over 25-year period.
